At first create new category for Magazine.
Choose 'JoomlaFlashMagazine->Categories' menu item, press 'New' button, input category name and description (optional). Press 'Save' button. After that choose 'JoomlaFlashMagazine->Magazines' menu item. Next press 'New' button to create new magazine and do the following:

• Input title, author and description for future magazine.
• Choose category.
• Choose language file, choose template and resolution for future magazine.
• Enable/disable print button.
• Select view mode - 1 or 2 pages.
• Enable/disable PDF button.
• Select PDF file for magazine.
• Enable/disable magazines sound.
• Select background sound for magazine.
• Select flipping sound for magazine(only for 2-pages view mode).
• Enable/disable front page.
• Select author image (shown when front page available).
• Enter author e-mail (shown when front page available).
• Enter author biography (shown when front page available).
• Select magazine logotype.

You can upload sound files with mp3 and wav extensions and image files with jpg, gif and png extensions. Also you can upload swf files for pages.

Firstly, uninstall your version of the component. All data will be kept in your database. Then install new version of the component. This will upgrade your database structure, if necessary, and all your data will be correctly moved to the new version.
